Had the car out at Dreadnought tonight. Spent the 1st hour getting used to it and trying a few things. Always seemed to make an arse of the hairpin . Was getting a lot of understeer thru MacIntyres too. Changed some front settings a bit and it made things a load better. Just meant the car was real tail happy through the fast stuff.
Spent the last 15-20 mins lapping with the guy who's leading class E just now. Worked out that i've been really overdriving the car. Calmed it down a bit on the last session and it was brilliant. There wasn't much between us and we were lapping closely for about 10-15 laps. Gave the confidence a good kick. At least i'm not too far off the pace to start with. I've been trying to run too much corner speed and running it in too hot. Started taking a bit off my entry speeds....and it all came good. Put the lap timer on at the very start of the night... but only got 3 laps before they switched off the timing beacon. Managed a 59 on the 3rd lap out on cold tyres (and mind)... so i'm hoping i got a good bit off that by the end.
Chased an R400 for a few laps earlier in the night..... who threw up a stone out of Clarks and smashed the windscreen.
So.... i've turned the screen so the spidersweb is on the passenger side and hopefully it'll pass scruitineering.... and i've cancelled the testing on sat and got a late entry for the race on Sunday. Posted up about this in the meets section. Good to see some of the SE boys out....Robin, Giles, Kev, Barrie, Brian J.
Cheers

If that was the car not set up properly then Im looking forward to seeing it out again!
Certainly seemed to be going well!
Was a cracking night - really enjoyed myself!
Couple of hairy moments - slightly sideways down duffus and at the chicane
- was more like
at the time tho!
Bit disapointed they were letting on a lot of track based "hot hatches" (the fiestas etc)? No problems with the drivers in the cars, no nutters from the usual hot hatch days ! They all seemed sensible and polite on track! But always thought the dreadnought nights allowed you on track away from hot hatches etc?
Anyone else any thoughts?

Perfect night, it was nearly hot, which is quite amazing for KH.
Interesting when my T1-Rs got too warm, lots of sliding, but not as bad as some people would make out.
Strange selection of cars on track, had fun following the guy in the white 944, lots of power so I couldn't get by him on the straights, but very entertaining through the corners, power slides whenever possible, however after about 6 laps of me on his bumper he went into the pits, perhaps something got too hot.
The oil flag being waved agressively as I came into Duffus was a tad worrying, but not as worrying as the slid when I hit the oil
Good to see the SE people out on track, not many of us, but there did seem to be more Elise/Exiges on track than anything else.
Gordon, you seemed to be going really well, you and another caterham passed me close to the end of the evening, I was trying, but the two of you just pulled away.
A great night

I was a bit concerned about this at the start, but when I did see them on track they were fine, driven well and they were happy to let me passed, and I don't think they spent much time on track.Bit disapointed they were letting on a lot of track based "hot hatches" (the fiestas etc)? Fair enough! Didnt realise that was the case, didnt get a chance to speak to any of the guys!
Like I said, no problem with the drivers etc there last night.
Just a bit worried if people viewing saw the "hot hatches" (they did look like some of the cars you can get on the hot hatch days) then they might think it was ok to come along too etc etc
Anyway... Was a bloody good night!
