Just a quick question...
I noticed the last time at KH some of you put rocks in front of your tyres when you park up after coming off track.
I'm guessing you're leaving the car in gear and using the rocks to stop it rolling away. Thus avoiding using the handbrake and warping hot discs?

Yes pretty much, except not in gear. engine still running to let the oil/engine settle down after hard use and cornering etc.

Plus, even if you do use the handbrake (and you shouldn't) when the discs cool & contract, it loses grip and the car goes for a wee wander down the pitlane by itself!

as confirmed by a man in a VX220 at the nurburgring. he stopped to help at an accident, then 15 mins later heard a massive smash. it was his car hitting the barrier then hitting the offical circuit car. OOPS

DIY chock making today .
Get one knackered chock .
Hack of a corner .
Drill hole through and attatch a bit of rope. Job done.
If anybody wants to hack off their own bits ( Which is a pain using a saw) I can give you whats left of my large lump of rubber at Knockhill on the 15th.

Is the piece of rope so you can pull away from inside the car?
Could you also use the rope to lassoo passing cattle? Chocks away!

Now there is an idea. I have harnesses so have got strapped in and forgotten about my rocks Doh. Infact I could rope them to the rear towing eyes save having them floating about inside.

Toodle pip
Stephen its yours to do as you please.
