Bit of a bugger.........

Post by tut » Tue Mar 03, 2009 6:54 pm

Hospital have just confirmed that I have Osteoporosis, so will have to make a few changes.

Out go full contact karate, extreme skiing, barefoot water skiing and free falling, so will have to do more trackdays and road runs to make up for it.

Hopefully no other changes to life style other than trying not to fall over, and staying out of the tyre walls and Armco. Oh, and maybe having one of youse passengering Clare on track.

Not good Tut, but does explain the injury with your hips.

Maybe you should get one of those neck braces that the karters use for trackdays?

Bugger indeed tut... :(

As Mac (or Mandy) says, maybe time for proper harness and hans when on the track?

I have a full harness Ali and also a neckbrace, so the hope is if I can avoid breaking bones, there will not be further deterioration.

What ever, tis a case of living with it and not letting it change what I enjoy doing.

Exactly! :thumbsup

You could always reduce the loadings by going to a std S1 and road tyres...

...no, I didn't think that was an option either.

My mother was diagnosed with the same thing 15 years ago. She got a course of drugs and her bone density improved massively. The disease barely affects her now, in her late 70s.
Admittedly though, she doesn't do trackdays. :)

All the best.
