Incidentally, Craig just contacted me to clear up some details on this thread - he's keen to address any queries head on.

Fact is, that as a main dealer, MMC are required to buy their tyres from Lotus at a set price and Lotus set their prices. The offer of free fitting actually sees them barely scrape even, which is why he can only offer it with a service. He'd love to be able to go into a straight fight with the bulk guys, but he can't.

Good to see that they will try and help a little even when they know it's not going to do anything for the bottom line directly.

Surely MMC will be selling LTS spec tyres and Ronnie will not be ?

Not saying the LTS spec tyres are worth any significant premium, but that would go some way to explaining the price difference. Comparing apples with bananas.

Best bet would be to compare MMC prices with other Lotus dealers, that will show how competitive or not their prices are.

Guys - LTS spec means dick all.

They are effectively M tyres on the 48s. LOTRDC dont even race on LTS with Yoko as a series sponsor!

Dont go paying a premium for LTS tyres.

Can I seek clarification... As an AD07 user, do AD07s even *exist* as non-LTS tyres?

Personally, I welcome the news that MMC are giving us discounts :thumbsup Speaking for myself, I wouldn't/can't use Ronnie since most times I drive to KH it's in the Tomato so the wrong car would be there for tyre fitting. I've not used him for the Tomato either - I happily would, but my tyres' end of life has never coincided with a KH TD plus I have a good arrangement with my local tyre fitter  I'm also confident MMC would never jack my car incorrectly.

So, unless the fitting costs at MMC (what are they BTW?) are bonkers, I'll just stick to an easy life.

I see Ronnie has a website http://www.wheelsaround.com/ but I cant seem to find prices. Is it a case of phoning him for a quote mentioning your a forum member ? Out of interest anyone have an idea what he charges for Toyo 888's for an S2 and does he have to fit them or can you just get the tyres and fit elsewhere ?

Just call him, yep... don't think it'll make any difference about being a forum member though. I'd just let him fit them.

Had to delete the price post, just heard there was a cost error. Craig will get prices to us next week.

Yes just phone him, I have his number (on speed dial  ) if you need it.

Last set of Exige size R888's were approx £130 rear £100 front fitted, that price has probably gone up for rears and certainly gone up for fronts as Ronnie told me I got the last of the previous priced fronts. Dunno if Elise sizes are cheaper.

IIRC all Ronnies prices and inc vat, valve, wheel balancing and fitting.

Apologies if this is diverting attention from MMC.

edit to correct prices.
