Yup, Sat and Sun.

Ed this Hotel is in Nurburg, near the Castle...Pistenklause is walkable. Not the bright lights of Adenau though Andy... :D

Kev, they still have spaces but filling fast DTM but also Club GTi are there that weekend.

Any consensus on ferries? Mike, BigD?
Andy and I plus Paines were going to book Geordie express...could do the dover donkey punch endurance route though...
Nice one.

Ferries, I can't book the Geordie Express at the moment so I'll probably go for the Dover endurance. It saves a bit of time off too. As much as the extra mileage will be a pain. The fuel is cheaper here with the crap exchange rate. I think the cost pendulum has swung in favour of Dover.

I'm happy enough to go with the Dover option. Long day on the Sat but early arrival at Le Mans.

Similar on the way home. I've done Nurburg to Edinburgh via Dover in one go but it was hardly pleasant...don't think I'd have made it to Aberdeen. I think we'd need a stop part way up the country.

There is a Travel Inn (Premier Inn) at Dover docks but its £88 for the night....not very pikee

Travel Lodge details, just need to pick one;

Thinking Ashford is looking the best at £54, plus there is a bar

Been looking at the ferrys.

Newcastle to Amsterdam on the correct dates (cheers ali  ) are as follows:
4 bed Cabin there and back £310 (so 77.50 each) plus £164 for each car.

Alternatively P and O from Dover is about £40 each way for a car.

Looks like Dover might be the cheapest option.

Travellodge wise: Ashford has family rooms for £54 each on the saturday.

Thoughts please gents! :thumbsup

Ashford looks good to me as above. By "family room" do you mean 4 into 1 room

Norfolk slighty cheaper for boat, not sure on the difference with P&O

That was partly my thinking too.

I was thinking of heading down in the early hours (less traffic) and straight on a say a 10am ferry or the earlier one if the going is good then straight to the hotel. It's about 4 hours to Le Mans but I'm sure we could reduce that slightly. That's, what 10 to 12 hours driving, not too bad. :?

However I'm happy to go with the flow. :thumbsup

Family room is a double and two singles by the looks of things. Would be cozy
Tom and I might have to be even pikier and say with relys!

Well as long as we get somewhere just off the M20 we should be sorted and find a place to stay on the Sat night - we've got time to wait for a pikee lodge discount deal i would have though?

Where did we stay 2 years ago? Ashford or something?

Ali - welcome to crash at mine on the way back up the road mate? On the way home think we might want to try and plan our escape north at off peak hours! That drive will most likely drive me insane if it gets as busy as 2007. Monday evening, rip north, shouldnt take too long :thumbsup

Mckean and Robin arent making LeMans :(

Last i heard, me and robin were heading down a few days early, missing le mans, and heading to the nearest mountains, for some high speed hooning. Then, we'll be meeting you guys on the tuesday, and doing the rest of the week as per normal.

I dont think we'll be going to the ring.
