Nah, I like (so far) Eddie.
He seems to be venting a few years of frustration...with not getting to sign certain drivers...or moans about stewards and other teams. It's good that he can give his opinion on something and for DC to disagree and give his opinion. That's proper "punditry"
He doesn't seem very confident of Hammi staying at McLaren but where would he go other than Ferrari. I thought maybe a swap with Kimi (as he's awful) but for some reason Ferrari seem to rate him.

Looking forward to a Button win.
This year there's so many drivers I'd like to see win.

Could well be over now though with the rain. Red flagged, so interesting to see how long they will hold them on the grid for before deciding if it is over or not.

Interesting to see that Heidfeld only made one stop compared to Buttons four.

Yeah, Heidfeld's long fuel strategy certainly paid off.

Glock's pace on the inters was immense, was looking like it was going to become one of the best races of recent years. Lots of passing.

Bizarre end to the race, but loads of overtaking and action throughout.

Enjoyed that but the heavy downpour came as no surprise, the one thing about Kuala Lumpur weather is the predictability of it, 5.30 - 7.00 usually brings heavy rain, Felt it was a big gamble starting the race so late.

Aye aye LB !

aye was a good race and hopefully the rest of the season will be more of the same ...... but it will be interesting to see how the teams without the fancy diffusers get on once they have them bolted onto the cars.

Another McLaren cock up with Lewis thinking he was 5th.
I'm not his biggest fan but I felt sorry for him at that point. Mclaren need to get their sh*t together!

I can't see the problem with EJ TBH, he has a different point of view and different insights, he'll get betyter I'm sure.

Legard however is awful, just awful. I can't watch the race with him commentating, which is a shame as Brundle is excellent.

Someone needs to remind him there are two other people with voices too. The number of times he interrupts DC (who is displaying saintly patience!), and the number of times he tries to wrest control from Jake Wotsisname...

It's as if he forgets Brundle can also be heard, and is not just his spotter/assistant. He tends to repeat everything Brundle just said. He'll calm down I hope.

Was a good race until the rain started the tyre lottery. Good to see Button overtake someone on-track - not sure I can remember when I last saw that! Well done to Glock, inspired decision to run the inters.

Quite a funny bit was when he said "Oh no, he's spun off again" and Brundle corrected him & said "This is the Replay" !!
:damnfunny
Two negatives make a positive but only in Scotland do two positives make a negative - 'Aye right.'

Finally F1 is what it should be, unpredictable :thumbsup. Although I do hope Brawn GP manage to keep the winning formula they have started with, be good to see a private team stick it to the big names. How odd that we aren't talking about any of the majors other than to comment on how they f&*ked up during the day.............good init :thumbsup

Liking that race...

My 2c on the team:

Legard is still thinking like a radio commentator - give him some races to adjust to the different demands of TV & having as competent a co-commentator as Brundle. They will be working hard together to get it right and just think, if you can hear the trip-ups, it's ten times as obvious to them - they'll know that it's not quite there yet.

Brundle - still awesome - he's not descending into narky personal comments as it'd be so easy for a long time (relatively, now) retired driver to do.

Jakey bloke - good host, totally inoffensive and just lets the pundits get on with it. Knows what questions to ask to keep them on-topic and focused (which will be difficult for them as first time broadcasters) Ideal.

DC - refreshingly good. Still tense, but will settle in well and I'm sure we'll see more and more wit come out as he relaxes into the role.

EJ - Legend in his own ego (but we knew that) He does wind me up sometimes, but then the best pundits do tend to do that. Nice to have some debate in the commentary and I think they need to keep that. Look at the footie shows, there is often total disagreement between the pundits and it's good to have their reasoning brought out to explain.

If anyone was to get the boot from the new BBC team, I'd vote Legard out before EJ.
Agree with Shug, he's still in Radio mode and hasn't realised that it's OK to shut up now & again cos by the miracle of 'telly' viewers can see the pictures too. If he doesn't pick up on this soon, then he's not suitable for the job.
He talks over Brundle, talks over team radio.. wouldn't mind so much if it was worthwhile info coming from his mouth, or if his voice wasn't quite so annoying.... but it's just utter nonsense to fill airtime. I'd quite like to hear the engine noise instead thanks very much. Bring back James Allen.
Genuinely laughed out loud at the "He's gone off again" comment.... In fact, the whole group of parents round the plasma at the Karting Clubhouse errupted at that one.

EJ & DC had to earn their fee on Sunday... I'm sure they weren't expecting to have to fill for that long.
I have no signature.
