Just came on and idles seems very unstable....

i seems fine when i was horsing it...

but at low rpm driving its quite jerky

Plugs, leads, coil maybe.

Variety of possibilities, get it plugged into an OBDII reader and post up the codes it spouts out for better info.

Safe to drive to a garage if the MIL light isn't flashing. Solid is an error, flashing is impending doom

**update**

I forgot the code but i give you update anyway.

Turns out to be air flow sensor fault. according to the fault reader

I did have to top up some oil, but dirving around is ludacris, it will judder like hell at low rpm and then catch on fine. but from round about this can be dodgy.

darker smoke coming from exhaust and seesm to be sptting out black crap as well.
car will idle jump from 500-1500rpm

and will eventually stall itself,

havent been out in it this good weekend weather wich is pissing me off so next friday couldt come any slower!

fault code - P1702 - mass airflow sensor fault.

Couldnt find anything on it tho......

It's probably no more complicated than the Mass Air Flow sensor is broken. If the car is still in warranty, get it replaced. If it's out of warranty and you know someone else with same car then swapping the sensor is probably a cheaper option than buying a new one. Obviously you should also check the connectors are all connected properly (the MAF lives on the air intake near the throttle).

Do you have the standard air box and filter?

yus! all standard and i have taken it out and gave it a electrical cleaner spray made sure all connected and still the same issue so it must be busted.

car is 1yr and 8 months

u rekon this will be convered?
