2bular fitted

Post by AllyY » Tue Apr 07, 2009 1:23 am

Having enjoyed listening to the wonderful symphony of different exhaust notes on the two road runs I’ve been on, I was inspired to change my own set-up, and consequently have just had a 2bular exhaust fitted.

I have to say that, in my experience, dealing with Jim Valentine at 2bular was a pleasure. He is incredibly enthusiastic about his product, and was happy to listen to exactly what I wanted in terms of sound/noise levels, and to offer his advice about the most suitable size of silencer to achieve this in conjunction with the 1zz-fe engine. Taking Jim’s advice, I ordered the 7” x 22” silencer ( finished with twin 3” through diffuser tips ). The exhaust was ready a couple of weeks after I placed my order, and once payment and delivery details were sorted I received it the next day.

And the results ? Well early days as yet, but on the evidence of the limited mileage done so far the 2bular is performing exactly as I had hoped. Exhaust sound is obviously down to personal preference, but to me it gives a delightful burble at idle, is reasonably mute when driving at low or constant speed, but gives a fantastic bellow when making more spirited use of the throttle.

So yes, very happy :D If anyone is considering a new exhaust, I would certainly recommend contacting Jim at 2bular to see what he can do for you.

Should also mention that, my own skills as a mechanic being nil, I needed to find someone to fit the exhaust for me. I ‘phoned Falkland Performance in Glenrothes first thing Monday morning, and they were good enough to make time to fit it for me that afternoon - fantastic service from these guys.

Cheers,

Ally.

Glad you're happy with it Ally. I had a 2bular on the Elise (7 x 18) and it sounded damn good. Glad to see your order with Jim went smoothly too and arrived in a couple of weeks :thumbsup

Go find your nearest tunnel . . . childish, I know, but it'll sound awesome 8)

Ooops....do remember seeing a white van at the staggered cross roads, and thought I heard a horn as we passed... so apologies and a belated :wave if that was you. Have you got over the loss of your exige ? Any replacement lined up to fill that gap in your stable ? :)
