As far as car choice goes, there will be bonus points for something unusual / different. Anything goes, but will need to be elligable for all the events, and pass scrutineering, so if unsure, drop me a PM of check out the MSA website for grass test / autotest rules.

First event; 4th June, Thurs, Test night at Kames - The challenge will not involve track timing, but points will be awarded; task to be announced (there are a few things in the mix, but I need to clarify with the MSA that we'll be okay without a permit)(If thurs night too difficult for folk, then we can look at some options)... will require to be a club member, which will also cover future events;

That's not fair - shift work sucks.

Edited to add in sulk at having to work for a living rather than at the choice of dates, realised it may have read differently.

Is my Locost eligible? The book says it cost £250 to build.
Well under the £500 maximum, should really be given a head start on all challenges then. Seems fair? :D

If you'll sell it to me for £250, that's fine

there is some finish motorsport that requires you to sell your car for £500 if asked by another competitor.

Okay,

Huge amount of chat on this, but please go and sign up to the teams post in Motorsport if you're interested

We're currently on two teams, which would work, but we'd ideally want to make it at least 3-5 for it to be more interesting (especially if someone has a car failure)

Could be some very cheap fun (remember, £500 top budget split between up to 5 folk - which you should get back at the end unless you're crap at selling cars!) Entries to the competitions will be mega cheap and you don't need race licenses.

So, cheap competition, possibly the comedy ongoing thread of the summer and the chance to help out charity - what's not to like? 8)

Get in about it :thumbsup

This is a ridiculous idea, what kind of idiot would buy an old car, mess about with it and then do a daft challenge in it.

If there is a west coast team in need of an additional member I’m up for it - obviously.

Umm... Grass Test...

What's this likely to do to the car?

Considering that:
a. We are looking to sell them on, potentially for profit.
and
b. Driving from somewhere near Kames to Dundee in a 500quid banger is probably risky enough never mind if the car is falling apart having been through a grass test... ?!

Cover it in mud

Just depends how hard you are on the car tbh, and if you keep clear of obstacles.

Its basically racing round a feild, and is brilliant fun, even more so if you have a rwd shed :thumbsup :cheers
