Got my first Elise in Jan 1998 after a 12 month wait. Lawrence had one of the first- I remember him driving it at Doune in Sep 1997.
The first I saw on the road was owned by the guy that ran the Karting at Knockhill- it may be the yellow car pictured above.
I've just sold my Noble M12 and now have a new mean Black Nissan GT-R (13 month wait) . Still running it in at the moment but it is awesome, even at part throttle! Will pop up to one of the next track days now that I can get the kids in the back!

My first Elise was P124 OSF and was in the yellow but with a black roof and the headlamp covers!
At first glance I thought it was mine!

No such luck, GT-R didn't make it out today. I had a couple of free tickets for Knockhill that the Nissan dealer sent me, but decided not to go because of the weather.

Hi Kevin,
Long time no see - look forward to seeing GT-R - fantastic piece of kit.
Out of interest, how many miles did you rack up in the M12? Seems to work for people as an occasional drive or you had to do lots of mods for heavy usage.
Went a different route - Exige has been superbly reliable for trackdays and have a XK for touring.

Remember that sinking feeling Robin when I turned around when you were no longer behind me.
Same pair of shorts in Scotty's write off. Just been counting up in front or behind me.
1) Cammy on the way to KH.
2) Scott Francis at Kildrummie.
3) Robin on Stelvio.
4) Ferry on the Dutch tour.
5) Scotty on 6/7/08
6) Brian after KH.
Hope that is it.

Good to hear from you. Hope all is okay.
I had absolutely no problems with the Noble in the four years I had it, but that could be because, shockingly, I only managed 1.5-2K miles per year. I sold it on Pistonheads at 7,900 miles to a guy from East Sussex. Was really sorry to see it go- it was a fantastic car.
I was in two minds about selling it because at first, as I'm still running it in, I wasn't convinced the GT-R was a better drive. However I remember concluding the GT-R was much better after first driving it at the Race Academy day Silverstone, so have to keep telling myself that.
Hope to see you soon.

Yep, special hubs installed and everything!
The Team Techno wagon was quite a spec in its day, probably had as much electrical power supply capability as it did BHP to the wheels

Hmmmm - Nostalgia at those pics... 10th of September 2001... Kinda wish I'd kept my 'banzai' head bandage to commemorate the occasion...
Re: who had the first elise on SE?
Er, doh, just reviewed this post. OF COURSE the car had as much elec power capability as it did BHP...measured in kW, the whole engine could be considered a generator couldn't it! To the tune of perhaps 80-odd kW, I believe.campbell wrote:Yep, special hubs installed and everything!

Ross' bandage just put the finishing touches to my mental image at the time, of the two Japanese guys in the Subaru with all the gizmos, in Canonball Run

Nearly! N1 is older. NeeNaw is chassis 236. N1 is 224.robin wrote: I think Simon Ironside's (then shared shed, now PaulW's) car is perhaps the oldest chassis on SE? It had the really early fibreboard bulkhead heatshield instead of the reflective rubber matting stuff and I don't believe I've seen any others of those.
Paul - what's the vin on neenaw?
