I don't know if its switchable on Lotus's ECU OR If the dealer would switch it for you. I know that on the hondata/ Omex you can
Geary at Eliseparts sell's a switch to bring the fan on at a lower temperature but it only mentions K series

It can be done on any elise I believe. The fan is controlled by a relay. One side of this relay is connected to the battery (possibly via the ignition switch). The other side is connected to the ECU. When the ECU wants to turn on the fan, it connects the relay to ground, energising the coil and closing the contacts, thus turning on the fan. If you want to turn on the fan, connect the relay to ground and the fan will start. Bob Van M has the relay connected to a switch in his car and uses this to force the fan on to help cool the car more quickly after being on circuit.
Why do you want to lower the temperature, though ... it's probably set more-or-less optimally for emissions/fuel economy as it stands?

Yes, I'm pretty sure it should start lower than that - have you confirmed with Lotus that 105 indicated is the correct temperature for fan operation?

Pretty sure the fan is set to kick in at 105. Thats where it used to start on my 111R.

Sounds like it's right then - they must run the engine at higher temperature deliberately? I would be wary of making it cooler without understanding why Lotus/Toyota chose this running temperature for the engine.

If you do want an adjustable fan controller, i just fitted a Revotec to my S1. Set it to what ever you want. I wired mine into the original Fan relay, simple enough job.

You need to wire this into the wheel speed sensor too I think? On the S2 the ECU sees the wheel speed input and so knows not to run the fan when the road speed is too high.
You can test the normal fan setup by just sitting in neutral at 2,000 RPM for 5-10 minutes - it'll soon heat up

Just remembered that I have an adjustable control on N1 that was fitted when it was converted.
Its a small rheostat that turns through 270 degs.
