New Nissan GTR (NLC) Rice burner

Post by allyrennie » Fri May 15, 2009 12:02 am

Evening all,

NLC but thought it might be of interest to a few.

Only 300 miles on the clock but the dealer prep was not as good as it could have been so I had this car booked in for a protection detail.

Lovely machine, huge car up close but so well put together. Ok the warranty stipulations and running in guidelines are a pain but that aside, its stunning!!!

We had a very funny chat with the guy from Nissan UK promoting the GTR about this.

Its a disgrace that they use the PR from their RIng time to promote the car and then come out with b*llocks like this!!

Had i been doing the Supercar day in it, as soon as I got on track - warranty void. Swtich off TC - warranty void.

What a great car!!!!!!! FFS

We had a very AMUSING chat with the Nissan guy, and left him in no uncertain terms as to what we thought. And my mate would have bought one without this nonsense!

Suspect it wont take long before someone challenges them in court

It also has a black box fitted, which records your every movement. This is downloaded each time you visit the main dealer and kept on record.........big brother anyone???

Agree with your court comment Andy -

Owner "its broken"

Nissan "You pushed the button, we told you not to push the button"

Owner "Why give me the button then"?

Nissan "Erm...."

Has there been a sh*tstorm in the car mags about this yet?

And if not, why not? Publications like Evo have built this thing up to be the best thing since sliced bread - if you then (as an enthusiast) can't go out and use it, then surely that's a properly worthy story?

I wasn't aware of these issues and it scares me if Nissan get away scott free with this - who's next? Has to be every warranty department's wettest dream if they can pull this sorta sh*t!

There must be the implication, that if you use the car as (surely) intended, and the warantee does not cover it, that Nissan think it will break down if used in anger. Is there a 'fit for purpose' type trades description act issue there?

As ever, loving your work Ali :thumbsup
