Mark, you completely missed the point, as expected. There is absolutely nothing petty about discussing people receiving poor service and paying a lot of money for this privilege, unless of course thats the angle you want to take. It's all black and white. Have a look at all the posts above for starters.

Jamie- orange splashbacks?! That to go with your Royal blue walls
Geez... Read my post again! I'm all for people posting their positive and negative experiences as that's helpful and what the forum community is all about and I clearly state this!! All I said is I have had a positve experience and like John says his was negative, I am not arguing with anyone or saying anyone is wrong!

What is Petty is dragging me into a he said she said.. I'm not interested in this JJ so END OF! If you have a problem with me PM me and I'll sort it
Mark, what exactly is your relationship with SLS? If you are simply a customer then your recommendations are fair enough. Is that really the case? I still have the PMs you sent me and something just isn't quite right with it all.

I think John's reply about your position made a lot of sense and you should probably take heed of it.

As regards SLS, everyone is entitled to their opinion, as long as they post facts, not hearsay, and do not resort to personal abuse.

We have all recommended individual specialists to each other on here, Dan, Ali, Mark, Ricky, as of course we should, its part of S_E. However we should also balance that against getting bad service, especially if it starts to get consistent.

Sorry you feel that way Mark. I was simply looking for clarification. After you went out of your way to pm me, questioning my actions I feel it was a reasonable question.

You answered my question so thank you for that. That's all I wanted. Don't think I was being bitchy.

Many thanks

I think if you were to say:-
"I've tried anal sex and really enjoyed it. In addition there are lots of others here who have tried it and they have only had a positive experience of anal sex."

Then yes I would say SE were promoting anal sex. Probably rightly so, a lot of people seem to enjoy it.

If it was subsequently revealed that some people hadn't enjoyed it quite as much as a vocal minority suggested they might but then their comments had been suppressed then would you not agree SE were promoting anal sex but perhaps need to review their policy?

Ali certainly does seem to have a huge problem with lead times, I just figured it was down to him being so busy. Maybe he simply takes on too much work.

As for the quality of his work, well i'm not technically minded enough to have a clue in that department tbh but as a previous customer it has made me a little concerned tbh.

He had my car for 5-6 months, as I say following a HGF. I dropped it into him with him instructed to sort the engine out and fit a braided clutch pipe.
We spoke about liner heights and I believe he made a pretty long journey to pick up a couple of Ks for me and 1 or 2 others.
During the months he had it, the MOT expired, and he identified the shocks were stuffed so I ordered some replacements, it was MOT'd and returned to me just prior to the motorfair weekend last year.
The braided clutch pipe was still in the boot, though I was just happy to get the car back, and knew he was working hard on getting other cars ready for that same weekend.
He told me he'd worked some silly hours to get my car ready, which I'd say I believe, my only issue would be why not spend the hours 4 months prior and at regular times...

On the paperwork side, I had to chase him up a few months later, and (though I never bothered to question it) I just got a simple receipt. Would have been nice to know something about the source engine in my car...

I post this both in praise and criticism of SLS, and as, maybe like others I've felt it wasn't really a post I wanted to make, but I feel this thread is starting to drift towards personal vendettas and not actual experience.

I don't think anyone who has criticised Ali in this thread has posted anything other than facts and direct experiences Chris. Not sure where you get the personal vendettas thing from?

Fair point, I may have been reading between the lines a little and drawing poor assumptions.

I'd say that Ali has been criticised for his lead times, and certainly in the past was criticised for his documentation (or lack of) and we can only hope that he gets on top of prioritising his workload, and, if too much work is his problem, turning people away, or asking if they can make it a couple of weeks down the line.

He's a nice guy and as we all know he is an asset to the Lotus community in this area of the world where people such as yourself are simply too far away .

I suppose this thread sums up what happens when you have a community full of 'nice guys' who don't want to tell him there is a problem or assume he already knows, then the same thing happens again, and instead of talking to Ali as someone else has suggested, we all crawl out from under the woodwork, post on here and things start to look a whole lot more serious than they actually are.

It can be very difficult not to let things get personal when an individuals actions effect you directly. I didnt post about my experiances previously for fear of being accused of being personal.

Speaking only for myself here as someone who has been on the recieving end.

Unfortunatly, one of the problems I had was that you couldnt speak to Ali, you couldnt get a hold of his and there are still issues with getting a hold of him. When you did get him, he was alway polite and apologetic. I cant fault him for his manners or his demeanor. I believe he is genuinly a really nice bloke and in a strange way I feel really sorry for him but the situation he is in is self inflicted. I did tell him about my concerns and I did offer my opinions on what he needed to do to get himself in a "better place" but none of the advice I gave him has been taken on board, whether he has not been able to make any changes due to circumstance or whether he has chosen just to plod on as he was, I dont know.

There is one thing I can promise you, when he had my car for over six months, I certainly tried to speak to Ali but it didnt speed things up any.
