I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Welcome! :wavey I'm one of those 'new' buyers that Tut was refering to and i certainly prefer the looks of the S2, and that of the Exige. It is down to personal preference and having learned more about Lotus, Elises and Exiges in general i wouldn't rule out buying an S1 Exige one day. In fact if i had the space, and more importantly the money, i'd go and buy one now! Good luck and i'm sure that you can get plenty of advice on here about what to buy and not to buy. Just one word - EXIGE! :thumbsup

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome :D (a complete contrast, by the way, to when I joined a Z4 owner's forum)

Also thanks for the advice about the S1/S2. I will (try to) take my time and chose a good one. My bro-in-law has a VX220 which I have driven a fair bit and it always impresses. However I think I prefer the Elise looks. I do realise that it won't be German build quality, but I am happy to do some work on my cars - I was looking for a new hobby - lol

See you all soon - I'll try to make the next run (even if its in my daily driver Mondeo :) )
Looking for my first Lotus :)

Unless I've missed it where abouts do you stay ? some kind owners might be able to take you out for a run but im not sure if youll be able to tell much difference from the passenger seat!

I've owned ... sorry we have owned both S1 and S2. We originally had an S2 Type 72 (Now owned by my mate LB) and i really liked the car and the JPS couloring I prefered above all others. We now own a S1 160 and although it was a few years between owning them the S1 feels a little more nimble but louder but this could be the different engines exhausts etc.

As said above get a run ine both S1 and S2 cars and see which you like best .... then choose a model :thumbsup

Hi, im relatively new to owning a lotus (6 months) and had only considered the S2 as at present is my only car and is a bit more practical than an S1 for everyday use. Would still love an S1 as a weekend toy and for the track.

I started off looking at S2 111s and this seemed to progress to 111r to exige and ended up with an exige s and love it :D

oh and :welcome
