While I am at it for all brand new SC owners and the like who have got the Ipod connector, you will need one of these to make it charge your Iphone.

I have the Kenwood one in my car. Excellent piece of kit, also supports bluetooth (inc audio) and USB so you can just fill up a memory card with lot's of music too.

About £200 but I managed to get it's predecessor for half price last year

Nice unit Peter.

Probably wasted in the Elise but tempted to find a blanker plate to fit one to the Skoda!

Yes, but the price was ok so I wasn't too bothered. The good thing about the hands free is that at least I can see who I'm missing calls from (and judge urgency). Talking above 30mph is a waste of time.

Seems like I've blown both my front speakers now though, looking for ideas for decent replacements if any one knows of good ones for the dash top mounted S2 (apologies for semi thread hijack).

Absolutely...and when I said wasted in the Elise I meant my drafty S1 of course, your SC with roof on might just be tenable at, oh, 40mph?!

I have an Alpine ipod control head unit in my S1. It's a full speed connection so it works as quickly as an iPod and uses the volume control in the same way the iPod wheel works which is nice.

It also supports USB so I have a small extension cable + 4gb sony usb stick velcro'd up the back of the dash, and the iPod cable velcro'd just above the passengers left leg (which is where the iPod velcros on). - and CD in case I feel old tech :D

Works very well, and looks nice too, especially with no ugly ports sticking out of the front like some stereos seem to have. A head unit with a USB stick popping out the front must look a bit silly!
