HELLO FROM EDINBURGH

Post by AVIATOR » Thu Jun 18, 2009 4:40 pm

Afternoon all,

Who would have thought there was a national elise forum......PERFECT!

I live and work in Edinburgh and have always wanted a Lotus Elise. Luckily Hoover comand is starting to come around and I am hopefully going to be in the market around October for one. So time to really swat up on what to avoid and look for in a used example.

I have sat in many variants but never managed to get behind the wheel or even have a substantial amount of time in one, so something I am a little curious about is the practicalities of someone my height (6'3) using the car on a daily basis? I am used to be crammed in to small places as you will see from a few of my pics I shall post.

Once again, can't believe you guys are here, I am delighted!

Look forward to chatting with you all soon,

Andy

Lots of info - a good trawl through some of the longer newbie posts in this sub-forum is always a good starting point, but ask away.

Also, get yourself along to the next event you can make - most folks are more than happy to let you sit in the cars and take you out to get a feel for them.

Whereabouts are you in Edinburgh as there are plenty around your neck of the woods :thumbsup

Shug,

I am down in East Lothian and thats good to hear about the guys being so hospitable....I will endeavour to get to the next event? Are there any Lotus specific events or even any that attract a high proportin of elise's?

Thanks again with your assistance!

No hassle.

Take a look in the meets section - can't actually remember offhand what's going on, but lots at Knockhill and the like :thumbsup You east coasters also have a fairly high proportion of nights on the Wazz (look for Edinbeers posts!)

PS - Graeme's 6'7", hence the post

Edit - actually, if you like camping - perhaps the best thing you could do from a knowledge POV is come up to Gairloch for o5o7o9 (in the meets section as a post at the top) for an evening of beer and bullsh*t. With 50 odd (at last count) Elise variants present.

Hi Andy, welcome to Scottish_Elises and as you say we are indeed a friendly bunch.

Our next event is a Knockhill trackday organised by SIDC on Saturday 27th June from 0900-1300, and there will be more than twenty of us from here on the track.

If you can make it, it would be a good opportunity to meet everybody, and get out as a pax in different cars.
