Yes - £10 (£5 refunded with return of helmet)

Sometimes on club days you get away with borrowing them gratis, but not sure how KH are handling this now.

Just opened Johns email, another good turn out from SE, I think over half the list are Loti and Caterhams. :D

Can anyone tell me if it is likely that my 10 y.o. nephew would get on as a pax? He and my brother would be travelling down from Elgin for it and I would hate for him to be disappointed by not getting a pax due to being too young.

I have emailed John also for clarification but just wondered if anybody had any recent experience of this?

Thanks
Stewart

Only if you have a passenger side 4 or 6 pont harness fitted, I asked for my 9 year old last time I was up :?

Thanks. I do have a 4 point harness in the passenger side, but would have thought a 3 point belt may have been a better fit as it's not easy getting the harnesses tight on a person with a small frame. Did you take your kid out in the end?

The issue with the 3 point is the diagonal cross strap can sit very close to the neck of a smaller person. I've enquired about the same issue with KH too and been told that in needs to be a harness.

There are usually booster cushions available at the control office where the crash helmets are issued.

I took my nieces out last year, but rules may have changed since then (smallest one had one booster cushion behind another one underneath).

I'll take him out if he fits OK - i've got harnesses both sides - look me up

Whether a "young person" will be OK as a pax depends very much on their height, and the suitability of the harnesses fitted to the car. I am sure there will be at least one or two cars attending that will have suitable harnesses fitted.

Helmets - whether you get charged very much depends on Knockhill - sometimes they don't have a change float available in which case you just have to sign your name and there is no charge ;)

John

PS Due to some last minute cancellations, we have 3 slots available if anyone is interested?

Come on S_E, places now available so get your asses on track.

For any newbies that are tempted, an SIDC day is your best place to lose your virginity. Even if you are only thinking about it, bring your car along, go out as a pax, and John will still sign you on if you then decide that you want to take your car on track.
