For any newbies that are tempted, an SIDC day is your best place to lose your virginity. Even if you are only thinking about it, bring your car along, go out as a pax, and John will still sign you on if you then decide that you want to take your car on track.

Im taking the lotus up for a run, only had it a couple of days, so just getting used to it. Hoping to take it on the track at some point. A pax would be a big help before I take my own car on.

I've just noticed that it now says we all have to wear long sleeve tops. It used to just say that open-top car drivers and passengers had to do this. Do they enforce this now? If it's as warm tomorrow as it has been the past few days, I don't want to wear a long sleeve top in the Exige!

It's been that way for a year or two, cant say I have noticed it being enforced.
Wear a long sleeved t-shirt and roll your sleeves up.

I thought last year's instructions just said it was for open-top cars. I don't have any long sleeve t-shirts. Will just wear a short sleeve t-shirt and hope nobody notices

Dezzy, you should be ok in a short sleeve T shirt, as the rule applies for open top cars only.

I have left the long sleeve instructions in there from last year, but I don't believe they are enforcing it these days for tin-top cars

Because of my elbow, I wear a sweatshirt or fleece and roll my sleeves up.

After the op on my spine in 2005, one of the side effects was that the nerves in my right elbow became raw, ie anything touches them and it burns and feels like an electric shock.
Seems there is nothing they can do about it, tried some medication and numbing cream but did not work.
