2001 s2 EML reader

hi guys, does anybody local to me have an engine malfunction light reader??

i have an intermitttant problem that i cant get to the bottom of - sometime the light comes on, sometime it doesnt, its becoming a more often than not on job so i want to check it out!,

S2 will use the Lotus Scan tool - right? Not just a generic OBDII reader - well the OBD reader will work, but my understanding is the Scan Tool will give you more specific results.

That said, I could be talking pish as I'm in the lucky position of just being able to plug a laptop into the Emerald and see what the issue is pretty quickly...

I use an obd 1/11 reader with some software on the laptop and i can get most things ie Proper Fault codes, snap shots and what various sensors are reading. Used on a few S2's now.

I am having trouble with it though, sometimes doesnt read anything. I will check it and let you know as im in Aberdeen Clark.

I've got a OBD2 reader mate, I'll PM my number. I'm on nightshift tonight then I'm off for 9 days. If you want to check your fault codes tonight, you can come past my work and I'll take my reader in. I work at the Airport :thumbsup

I've also got a laptoppy one which seems to work pretty well. Not back in abz till monday but if you're still stuck then, give me a shout
