for those not there, Kat (my better half) goes out in dezzy's car, he spins
then she goes with mass, this ends up with mass spinning, then just before the end, she get in with kenny and yes, you guessed it,
Kenny spins as well.
Nothing to do with Kat. It's us bad drivers

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Good SE turnout. For a SIDC day there was about 11 Scoobies booked (out of about 60 cars) and probably half that on track!
Nice to see a good number of 7s out!

We had some good laps, I have some footage to post, contains your number plate if that is ok? Some people are funny with plates being shown.
Not hugely dramatic but has some skittish moments, it really was greasy out there and I'll skip by the boring bit where we were held up by a certain Caterham for 12 laps, or maybe a should shame someone into checking their mirrors next time.

Hope it wasn't the orange one
Some cars won't let you pass, I thought the blue flag was in use today ......

Another fun SIDC outing, once again a big thanks to John S for all his efforts in making it run so smoothly
Never really had the confidence to get much speed out of the car today, definitely not a fan of the conditions. No spins for me, but then I may not ever have been going fast enough...
Good to meet Andy (Aviator), hope you enjoyed your laps, hope you managed to find someone a bit quicker than me to give you a proper demonstration

Not being able to use the pit lane meant it wasn't easy to mingle and chat, was going to have look for you later on but was runnning out of tracktime due the fog at the start. Next time.thetyrant wrote:Shame i didnt get chance to meet and get a few pax laps but maybe next time
XP10's worked surprisingly well in the wet by the way

Realised after we had finished that after the delayed start I had gone right through to 1200 without stopping, just coming in to change passengers. However I lost time having to go and refuel which is a bloody nuisance, and I then heard metal to metal on the front brakes. I had new Pagids with me and Ronnie fitted them for me, but then only got back on for the last ten minutes. They must be making them of cheese nowadays.
We actually had a dry line at one point, but most of the time it was greasy or wet. I went out with Maxine, the new Instructor at 1130, and when I asked her how many times she had been out so far, she said I was the first one. Don't understand it, both her and Sandy Forrest were there to give free instruction, and if I can benefit from it, which I did, I am sure that everybody else could.
When she got in I said I would start off at 80% as in the briefing, but both Sandy and Duncan came over to me and said give it hell as it was her first time out. She was great, said she really enjoyed it even when I was showboating at times which she was encouraging me in, and she showed me the best line and technique through the Hairpin, and also to try palming the steering wheel through the Chicane to get the smoothest line, which also worked well. I offered her a drive later which she took up, but the fuel and pads screwed that up.
Many thanks to John again for running a great session, he must have been sweating as I was for tt 2007 with that damned mist.

ps Good to see Davey Jones back on again in his black GT2, 911 GT, have not seen him for a few years and we had some good laps together.

Wish I had known that, would have quite like some instruction laps. I thought she would have been busy all day.tut wrote:We actually had a dry line at one point, but most of the time it was greasy or wet. You must have heard Sandy tell us in the briefing Kenny? John always lays on at least one free instructor. Good looking lassie as well, and good with her offshore language, "fcuking good tut, you got that one just right" "fcuking hell how did we miss the pit wall overtaking that lot?"
Great thing about her was that apart from the instruction side, she really enjoys being in the car, and unlike some others, encourages you to give it welly and test the limits.
