Goodwood FOS.. NLC

Post by Dominic » Mon Jul 06, 2009 3:45 pm

Well, we set off on friday evening; destination, Worthing on the south coast of England. Arrived at about 1AM. Up at 8 the next morning, and off to Goodwood for the Festival of Speed. I can't start to put into words what it was like. I'll let the photos do the talking! Shug may have some informed comment to add too. Anyway, spent all day saturday at goodwood, leaving early evening to go back to our digs for a decent curry, and an early(ish) night. Up sharp on Sunday morning, and back to Goodwood, for another day of motoring heaven, then back up the road last night. Two and a bit days; two days at Goodwood, 1000+ miles, 1000+ photos :oops: , and 1000+ flies on the front of the car :lol: . T'was definitely worth it. Can not recommend it enough. As I say, loads of photos,.. here are a few;

Awesome event - may do a write-up if I get half a chance, but got lots to do before Andy & I boost down to Walshy at the end of the week and I'm still totally shattered from the weekend...

Excellent pics Dom - couple of years since I went to the FOS but your pics just made me decide that I should be scheduling it in for next year. :thumbsup Keith

That's what you call a Motorsport event.

Just wish that I had been able to fit one in.

Dom

Thanks for posting. They are a tremendous set of pictures that seem to not only capture the essence of the event but also a lot of detail of the cars :thumbsup

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Yes, tremendous shots Dom!

Now...SE pilgrimmage to Goodwood FOS one year maybe?! I've been a few years back, went in a pink Corsa (!) and it was brilliant. Still had my company flat in Leatherhead so was an easy drive down...guess accom is busier around the area though.

Is there camping available?

Albeit it's a long hack down some boring roads from Scotland I suppose. However it's only 45 mins from Southampton Airport, to where Flybe fly for reasonable money if you book well in advance :thumbsup
