The heavens opened at Knockhill for the Hot Marques, but with a new toy, I had to give it a go . . . . .

Shot on a MD80 implanted in my nose - not bad for 60 quid
Great fun driving but not as fast as the heavier cars as I just didn't have the grip. I'd just put a new set of CR500 on but still aquaplaning into Clarks

. With heated screen, headlights, and wipers on the tiny alternator and battery couldn't cope and the ECU called it a day when the rev's and voltage dropped in the pit lane - embarrassing

Quite interesting moving with the head and the track seemed very quiet.
Are those pilots flying gloves that you are wearing?

Yeah, never got round to buying a pair of driving gloves so just went in to the loft and pulled out the old flying kit - the're perfect for the job.
The video was the last few laps and I think most had given up by then even though there was a slight improvement in the conditions.

Sorry to have gone home without saying good bye. Have a nice holiday.
I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

That video makes it look like it wasn't that wet

we were losing traction on the straights.

Seriously wet and a bit pointless if you happen to be on worn R tyres.

Great footage and superb angle. They have tried this kind of shot in recent years in the IRL. Dario Franchitti wore the camera on a couple of occasions and his conk was in the corner of the frame

Hi Dan,
We missed you last night, kept asking every one if they were called Dan but no response. What type of car do you drive ?
Hope you enjoyed.
For interest we were clocking 69.5 ish in the wet compared to 61 ish in the dry. Intresting that the speed at the end of the 2 straights is only 4mph lower wet to dry (97 mph verses 101 mph)
