Restaurant Recomendations - Perth NLC

Post by Dominic » Mon Jul 27, 2009 7:50 pm

The Mrs has ended up with the wonderful task of organising a works christmas dinner for about 10 people, to take place in Perth. Given that we both live in Glasgow, we have no idea what are good or bad restaurants in Perth, so are looking for some recomendations.

TIA :thumbsup

Or have a look at Cafe Tabou - I had a good lunch there:

another vote for pacos. There's also the filling station or the foundry which is suited to a christmas party. The sports bar also does food.

The Bothy in Kinnnoull St is also very good for a xmas party atmosphere, but as said above, so is Pacos! Best book early tho, as these places fill up very quickly at Christmas!

Based on recent and past Festive experiences, I would disagree with the Paco's nominations and agree with the BrianJ one.

Pacos would not be my choice.....Unless you are looking for cheap and cheerful..... in noisy Cafe surroundings......served by surly staff........and surrounded by hyper kids?
They do cater for festive parties in rooms upstairs.....but it lacks atmosphere

I would offer up the following Restaurant as an equal to Brians.
Good quality "Chef Prepared "food at reasonable prices in a central location.

Lets Eat is fantastic and the food is better (and a lot dearer) than Paco's but it can be a bit reserved / stuffy.

So if you're picking up the tab then go for the noisey / atmospheric Paco's. If you're not paying then head for Deans but take your own party poppers. :)

Let's Eat and Cafe Tabou are both fantastic, there also used to be a nice place along Tay Street too.

Pacos is good for large parties and something for everyone.

Thanks for all the recommendations. Guess its time to get a wee shortlist put together so I can get an agreement sometime soon to allow me to get somewhere booked
