Caterham Academy 2010

Post by merlin » Mon Jul 27, 2009 10:45 pm

Last year I sold my Exige (thanks to Kenny) as I found it too expensive a car to throw around the track and too compromised for the all-weather road miles I cover. I had intended on replacing with a Caterham and a tow car. Unfortunately my mortgage was up for renewal so this year I ended up with a tow car (WRX wagon) but nothing to tow! After an impromptu test drive this summer at Caterham midlands I decided to sign up for the Caterham Academy 2010. Not something I had ever considered due to living up here, but soon convinced myself racing was the way forward! I should get my kit in November/December then it will be time to get as much road/track time as possible following a chilly mid-winter build. I can't wait having made Skip Barber my new bible and have signed up for SIDC August and a Caterham slalom experience to help keep my going until next year.

See you on track soon,

Merlin.

Top effort!

Looks like a great race series. I seriously considered it, but couldnt face driving all the way in a 7, then along came the LOTRDC.

Looking forward to following your progress, and seeing the new car at KH :thumbsup

Have been loving 7's since driving my mates R400 up from Royal Ascot, and Mass gave me a shot of his at the last LOT KH day. Racing them, well that should be entirely special - there are also some great guys on here for advice on set up etc.

I'm going to have to do something next year now    :damnfunny :damnfunny

Best of luck to you mate. :thumbsup

Im sure you will not regret taking the plunge into racing. Your bank manager might though! It looks like a good series. And with all the cars being the same it should be down to the driver.
