I would like to nominate me for Hammonds job, I have slightly less bad hair and am a bit taller. I actually had a dream that I helped James May fix an MG midget then raced hammond over the crow road?

Re: Top Gear
I'm glad I didn't read this thread until I'd watched the prog (via Virgin Catchup TV on demand, last night).
I watched most of it with my youngest, James (2) who generally asked every 15 seconds "when are the racing cars coming back on Daddy". He had a long wait.
Eventually I put him to bed, but then had to take several commercial breaks while I went back upstairs to complete some rapid-return disciplines to get him to *stay* in bed. The draw of Clarkson et al seemed too much even for him, for some reason.
Perhaps as a result of this stilted viewing experience, I didn't have any vitriolic reactions to the programme overall.
I felt the VX "businessman's supercar" thing was pretty weak, I mean who is realistically going to choose a be-winged monstrosity like that over an S4 etc. Albeit it's a lorra car for the money, but not in that marketplace methinks.
The Scirocco stuff had some humour early on but I agree the blowing things up stuff was boring and the shot in the head had unfortunate timing as James was still watching at this point
A lesson in parental censorship there, thankfully he is too young to get it. Phew.
The Aston piece was in the main quite clever I felt. I kept wondering when it was going to develop into a classic "review", yet it never did...nice piece of anticipation going on there. The Welsh scenery was pretty decent although they would have done 200% better in Wester Ross. The underlying message, much as with EVO recently, was pretty stark re: the future of the fast- / super-car.
As for the Vantage V12 bonnet vents, what IS going on there. There were better bonnet louvres on my Mum's 1978 Honda Civic for goodness' sake.
Anyway, that's the end of the Sunday "highlight" for months now. Only Hotel Babylon on Fridays left. Not that it matters as we still spend most of the evenings sorting out bedtime for the terrors or collapsing in front of a hastily prepared dinner before ordering the next round of rations via Tesco.com and staggering up to bed. I think we need a holiday...

Re: Top Gear
Hate to admit it but I used to watch Hotel Babylon.
However not the same since him and her left.

Agreed. They also are losing further characters hand over fist, not sure that we will stay with it much longer.tut wrote:Hate to admit it but I used to watch Hotel Babylon.

Re: Top Gear
Hampster looks a right fairy with that haircut. At least James's lanky greasy looks, fit in with his character.
Campbell, not sure if you CAN have a thread drift from TG.
