somehow managed to snap two bones in my ankle so have two plates and four pins put in on wed. Just stepped off a step backwards my foot decided to do an impression of an owls head turning around. No driving for next 12 weeks

SE started in 98 IIRC - just a bunch of like minded elise and elise-to-be owners emailing one another ... I was still in my early 30's!!

My first one was in October after my first KH.

"A bit of a round robin posting, so forgive me for rambling on.

Firstly, many thanks to Robin and Katie for putting me up at short notice and being excellent hosts, even though I could see two racetracks the next day after several bottles of wine.

Andy, sorry that I had to shoot off early after phoning home. Mail me with my share of dinner, and I will send you a cheque down. Had hoped that we could have tried each others cars, as it was the ideal opportunity to compare a B&C
140 with a 160.

Campbell…. good to meet you and Lisa, and sure it will not be the last time. Let me know how the experiments go with the straight through pipe and the air filter. I should have asked you which way to go after I left you in the café,
god knows which way I went to go back to Robins, but it certainly was not the short cut!!!

Kelvin… We were not introduced, and I did not realise who you were until after you left, would have liked to have chatted, so will make up for it next time.

To John Stewart…. You seemed to be rushing around most of the time, but you certainly organised the event extremely well, and I did not get chance to say thanks. Let me know when the next get together is in Aberdeen, and I may not even be the only Elise, as there are a couple in this neck of the woods.

As for the track day, it was the most fun that I have had for a long time with my clothes on. I have been driving for over fourty years, and thought that I was reasonably capable, and I put quite a few laps in around the track on my
own. However, when I got talking to Alan, the instructor, and then spent 30 mins with him on the track, with both of us driving, I realised that I knew f…k all.

I know that it was my first time on a track, but I could not believe the difference between the before and the after. By the end of the session I was happily mixing it with the Subarus and Porsches, although I did spin off twice
when the mist came down. Was frustrated that I could not get past them on the straight, so have been talking to Rob Yeomans about a TT conversion.

Cant wait for the next meeting, but that is probably next year. If any of you could make it up for my 60th bash next month, then that would be great. In the meantime I am making the most of the roads around here, especially now that I know how to hold the steering wheel correctly.

Campbell again… drove back home as you suggested via Perth on the Coupar Angus road, and what a fantastic road it was after leaving the town behind. Good job that I took my rear number plate off though, as I did not know where the Gatzos were, and got flashed twice from ones that were partly hidden.
