A Newbie Teuchter :)
Re: A Newbie Teuchter :)
Yeah, in other words you can not win. Remember the long run on the plain in Spain on Stelvio 2001, 40+ and baking.
Agree on not needing S/C power on the road, only ever drop into 5th or the odd 4th for overtaking on the road in shorter spaces, otherwise over 25 is 6th. However once you have it you would not want to go back, makes quick road runs very relaxing as it acts just like a turbine, and is also safer especially in slippery conditions, as in 6th you are not putting the torque down and throttle control is smoother.

Tut, only in your mind could it be safer to drive a s/c car when slippery - it has more torque everywhere in the rev range - try being in 5th in the K-series car - no power or torque at road speeds and no danger of slippagetut wrote:Yeah, in other words you can not win. Mass

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Thanks for the warm welcome, recognise a few from other forums and also met a few/saw some in action at a top marques trackday last september where a few of the porsche owners club guys took me out (spotting the bare foot ninja sticks in my mind too
)
