Don't remember that one Robin, but tis not on my hard drive.

Wish I could still lie under the car though to fix something.

Happy memories... :thumbsup
I agree, certainly my most memorable trip. Have got lots of photographic memories of all the antics we got up to ! Still have the original roadbook, and one day would like to do the trip again, either on a bike or in an Elise (Not the 340!)

Tut,

Another "Ask the family" question ...

Where is this (where the green arrow is)?

You cannot mistake those feet Robin, or the grey track suit bottom that was protecting my knees.

Could it be the night time jump lead tow over the mountain when we crossed the border from France to Spain?

Yes! It's where we raided dead man's house looking for bits to fix the shed, then gave up and lashed up the jump leads :-)

Thinking about taking the same road again en route from Clermont-Ferrand to Pau next year, though preferably without the jump leads ;-)

Cheers,
Robin

I will try to rake out the shoeboxes of Stelvio 99 pics.

Many will have seen these before but our Stelvio 2001 pics are online, having found the wonders of direct to CD transfer at Klick photo by then!

This is a personal fave...

Sadly I forgot to give this to Katie in time for Robin's 40th :-(

Stop press...the shoeboxes have been located...the filing system works...5 packs of Stelvio99 prints are now ready for preview and scanning of the most incriminating :thumbsup

Actually all very tame but grand memories just the same, will scan up the best in the next few days.

Must be close to 10 years ago to the day that we set off...oh, to be back then again...!

Bloody hell Markus, you are some lurker, do you read everything on here? We had a great run together, and if I remember correctly, you were our interpreter when my car broke down and we were talking to the locals.

I have all the webcams at the top of Stelvio on my computer so will be looking out for you on the 13th. Will you be lunching there as usual?

Let me know when you come to Scotland next year, you are more than welcome to come and stay with us at TutTowers, would be great to see you again. The Dutch mob have been here twice on their Scottish tour.

All the best

ps Just noticed Markus that this was your first post and that you only joined this Forum today. Welcome to Scottish_Elises, although pretty sure that you posted before on the original S_E.

Great photo Campbell, remember it now as N1's nose is sticking out.

Hope that it was not me who knocked the sign over.

for sure we had a great run and yes, we ( Robin with your friends) made some new brackets for your rear dampers by a spinning company in Braunwald :D

yes, we will have a snag on the top of Stelvio at the 13th.

Thanks a lot, it will be in september after Stelvio 2010, I will mail you details after the Stelvio 2009 run.

Cheers,

Markus
