Looking good. Even though I said I would never do it again after doing mine, it makes me want a project

Although I think having to do it in a nicely lit garage would help, I had this

Looking great Alan.

The last two pictures are puzzling though. Assuming same camera and lighting, they are completely different colours.

A tremendous story so far, and obviously still not yet concluded, one to rival the "Making of the Elise" story itself I'm sure.

Thanks for taking the time to share the pics.

It almost seems a shame to take the car out on the road and risk the stone-chips etc  but I'm sure you'll both get over that quickly and enjoy the end result immensely.

It is quite inspiring to see an Elise "taken back to the bone" and reconstructed in this way. I've often wondered what I would need to do to properly restore my trusty 10-yr-old example if I keep it another few years, and I think I now have the answer (although I reckon I'd stick with my existin New Ali colouring...burnt orange has now been done before!!)

all the best for the closing stages

Thank you for the kind words,

I finally got to drive the car last night. Me and Ali got the last of the panels on which took some time to get the fit and finish right but well worth the effort. Drove the car to Ali's garage as mine is full of MG crap. First off, its bloody quick. Couldn't really push it that hard as my Geo is waaay off but loving the honda and its short box.

Todays jobs will be checking everthing is tight and then a geo with a few loose ends to tie up. I will post some pics when i get in tonight.

Cheers
Alan

P.S Sorry I couldn't make the road run Mike, got to get this thing finished.

Started Geo yesterday but we didn't like the front ride height so removed the Front brackets and re drilled them. Much happier with the stance of the car now, should be 115/110 which I think will be fine.

Trying to get the car ready for a Monday MOT but there is still a number of things to finish off.

Here is some pics of the cars first trip outside of the paintshop. If you are thinking of getting your car re sprayed I would highly recommend them, the 2 guys (Neil & Kenny) there are so fussy and take real pride in there work.
