About to fit the EP gear linkage kit in a bid to improve the changes on my '99 S1 Elise.
I'm no mechanical genius, but the instructions seem pretty straight forward. Just wondering if any wise SE'ers have any tips or advice on fitting this kit that might not be evident in the guide provided?
Thanks in advance
Stephen
p.s.
Fitted it today, not too much hassle. Removing the under tray and the cable clips was the worst part! Has made an improvement although the bushes that were removed weren’t all that bad. Thanks for all the help and advice. Cheers Stephen

Thanks Andy,
I'm in the Borders but thanks very much for the offer. I'll give it a bash, just wondering if there were any 'lessons learnt' from the wise!
Cheers

Re: EP Gear Linkage Kit
One key problem with the elise linkage (whether you're using the EP kit or just the standard stuff) is that it's quite easy to bend the big metal bracket that transfers the fore/aft motion on one of the gear cables to rotational motion on the selector shaft; this in turn leads to the mechanism binding a little bit and thus the stick doesn't self-centre properly. In fact I would go as far as saying that if the bracket is in the correct plane and the bushes/spherical bearings are properly lubricated, the gear linkage is fine with or without the EP kit.

Re: EP Gear Linkage Kit
I bought the EP kit, changed the bushes which made a huge difference.
Still haven't got round the changing the drop-link part.

Re: EP Gear Linkage Kit
I fitted the kit last week, only took around an hour, the longest part was getting the aluminiun panels off. What a difference it made and my old bushes and linkage didn't seem too bad. The gear change is far better now, a lot more positive feeling.
