Exige S Stage 2 Exhaust

Post by Nig The Stig » Tue Oct 20, 2009 11:56 am

Would there be much benefit changing from the standard one to the S2 exhaust apart from the increase in noise?

Stage 2 is for the N/A....I think it will rip itself apart on your car.
Stage 3 is what you are after.....or PM VXC, he has a 2bular that is better still!

Was wondering about this myself, after I add the supercharger will I have to change the current stage 2 Exhaust which is on my N/A exige? why would it rip itself apart?

Better tell Murray Lotus that then meatball as they're selling a black 240 S cup with stage 2 exhaust on it. It did sound well nice tho.

Was bidding on one on ebay but missed out on it. It went for £245. Is this a good price for them?

Is the stage not designed for a n/a car?
The stage 3 was designed for the s/c cars.
I believe the stage 2 is prone to turning itself inside-out even on a n/a car!
Why does it happen.......dunno!

Stage 3 just works better because it's tuned to the S/C airflow. You won't have any negative effects with a stage 2 that I know of, just no real positives (bar the noise, if you like that sort of thing) Stage 2 is just built like sh*t and the baffles corrode and rattle - although Elaine's is okay so far...

Think I have a stage 2 on mine, sounds lovely but don't think it brings anything else to the party.

Yep, I read somewhere that the stage 2's just blow out in no time on the SC cars (perhaps too much back pressure?). I have the Stage 3 on my Elise SC and I love it ( I think Mass has the same exhaust on his CR) ...but it is very very loud.

I guess you can tell by the oval exhaust if it's a supercharged specific one?

Cheers, Peter
