Run to Rannoch Moor

Post by Stewart » Mon Nov 30, 2009 7:57 pm

I am using up a weeks holiday this week and because the forecast for today appeared to be the best day of the week I decided to pack some lunch and the camera and head for the hills.

I set the sat nav for Glencoe and left Fife about 10:45am a bit later than I wanted to, but I slept in  . Anyway the roads were dead, which was nice. I was expecting them to be drier than they were as I am still running the 048's that did FF8. Still I was in no rush and just took my time.

Here are a few snaps which I hope you enjoy.

I first stopped off at Loch Dochart for a pit stop

That has to be the smoothest water that I have ever seen in the first pic, perfect mirror.

Stunning Pics
My old Geography teacher used to tell me that Rannoch Moor was the least populated part of the UK with over 50 square miles of nothingness.
Never did challenge the fact to see if it was correct in later life
I have a time share up there and never seen the water as calm( or your car as dirty)........
:cheers

Brilliant photos, what sort of camera are you using?

Thanks for the comments. It was really difficult to take a bad picture with sunlight and scenery like that.

A Nikon D70 which is getting on a bit now but still seems to work fine.
