Good luck with Snippersgate.

They had a Boxster in stock recently that I was very keen to buy. Spoke to the guy twice about it and twice he was supposed to call me back. I'm still waiting on his call.

If that's how they treat a (potential) paying customer then I wouldn't like to see what their aftersales service is like

Thanks for all the comments so far, and the heads up about how long it has been there. Experiences with the garage are always good to hear as well.

Surprised Kenny (my brother) hasn't been on to comment yet himself but he is busy trying to sort out a house purchase this morning so I'll let him off!

Any more comments on car, garage or alternative cars for sale would be appreciated :thumbsup

I know a nice 56-plate Prodrive version RX8 for sale... much cheapness £8995... (in case he can't do without feature comforts coming from an M3)...

Cheers for the offer Gorrie but I think he'll pass!

It's actually the opposite- he knows that if he gets any 'normal' car at around £8-9k it'll feel crap compared to the M3 in almost every way.

He works offshore and is only home for about 25% of the time so doesn't need anything practical so he's decided something which is completely focused on being fun to drive is the way forward. Hence an S1 Elise.

Hi everyone I'm Kenny who's looking to buy the S1!

Cheers Stevo for putting the post up and huge thanks to everyone for the replies, I've got an ever increasing list of things to look out for and questions to ask the dealer. I'll probably give them a call pretty soon as there's no mention of service history and what service is due next, MOT or tax.

I've been looking on Pistonheads, Autotrader, Ebay, Here, SELOC and Racecarsdirect but if there's anywhere else let me know! I considered a CATD if it could be proven as just light bodywork or water damage, but for the piece of mind though I think I'll stick to a straight one.

As Steven said I've just sold my 2005 M3 SMG so need a complete departure or else I'd just be disappointed with a 'normal' car, I'll still get to use my girlfriends Cooper S if I need paracticality! :?

Keep the comments coming and I'll update how I get on :thumbsup

Have a look through this thread that Ferg started when he was looking a couple of months ago. There is a fair bit of useful information in there from memory:

Love the look of this, think it would look even better with black side pods.

MMCs rule, I love that my car has these silly light weight discs that are seemingly indestructible!

There's been a few MMC's fail at Knockhill when the rotor detached from the disc.

Mine included, but not until I got upto 190 hp on the K. Saying that N1 has MMC's all round with 220hp. N3 with 300hp can not run them on the front, but has them on the rear.
