Yeah - the guy who i got to crush it took the lot, left me with a certificate of destruction and fooked off assuring me i could happily wonder down the DVLA and give them that with documents and they would be happy to put in on retention for me!
How wrong he was, and boy did his boss get it in the ear later that day after my trip to the DVLA when the women handed me a 40 page leaflet and highlighted the small print in yellow highlighter.....
No retention if the car is out of MOT (although there is a small space of time allowed) but if the car has been scrapped then they cant inspect (WTF for i asked!) she said it was routine....
Anyway, called on the off chance that they still had the car, to be told they had scrapped in within the hour and that they had already informed the DVLA! C*CKS, since when did scrappies become more efficient that the money grapping GATSO boys?!
On a more light hearted note - here is it's replacement!!! Just in time by 48 hours!
Now, not my first choice as we know, however another trade price car from my old place of work Merc from a colleague who i think was looking out for a car for the wife not me!
Fully loaded special edition Metropolis TD5 Auto with 60k on the clock at a very good price of 12k, more of a chelsea tractor than off road 4x4, but will do me until I scrape together the change for a lizzy!
Awaits roasting....
Dave
