Good choice Mr Boag, I think you and I have scarily similar music tastes (despite the age gap)

My Daughter plays the track Nefeli on her piano and cello as a grade 6 piece from his Echoes Album and it creeps up on you

I'm sick of that one at present, Mandy's been playing constantly since it appeared in Twilight! :D

LOL. Whilst looking for a good performance of it I did find some listed as Bella's tune or something like that, with (I assume) kids shouting down anyone that suggested it wasn't written by Edward ;-)

Cheers,
Robin

I love listening to Einaudi. Sooooo relaxing. I Giorni is one of my favs. During my time at the RSAMD, it was played all the time by the piano students, and I never tire of hearing it. Iv just been inspired to download some more Einaudi! :thumbsup

I had no idea Clair de Lune was in Twilight (never seen it  ). However, I remember it as being the piece played at the end of Oceans 11, in the scene outside the Bellagio! Brad Pitt, George Clooney - swoon!!!!

Im a big classical music listener, but personally Im not interested in "classical" classical music as such. If I want some background music while Im doing housework or something, I'l stick on some later classical/romantic/early 20th century stuff by Tchaikovsky (last 3 Symphonies are my favs), Mahler (2nd Symphony - Wow), Shostakovich (5th Symphony, last Mvt) or Stravinsky (Firebird, Rite of Spring, etc). Or maybe Ravel's "piano concerto", Debussy's "La Mer", Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" or one of my personal favourites, Verdi's "Requiem". Stuff with plenty of brass! Maybe thats not the kind of music you'd like to listen to while studing though.........especially the Rite of Spring! :blackeye

Rachmaninov is good to listen to as well.....

Classical is something I'm starting to get more of an ear for, but have to admit that I'm a sucker for music that's been used in film (eg Barber etc) I'm still trying to track down the piece that's in Phillidephia (he played it after the party)

Looking forward to finding and listening to some of your suggestions Jen, quite like piano & strings, I'm not a huge brass fan, but willing to be converted (unless it's Abide by me)

1 Geek Point if you can tell me what other Brad Pitt movie the same piece is used in.

Mac, is the piece orchestral or is it choral/sung by soloist?

Cheers,
Robin

P.S. <barp> it was not used in Mr&Mrs Smith to the best of my knowledge - though I've only seen it once, and it was terrible :-)

I think the piece is orchestral, perhaps with a heavy influence of the strings section.......but I could be wrong and it could be a heavy influence of vocal - perhaps an operatic piece....

I'm hopeless I know :D
