S1 rear window seal ?

Post by Corranga » Wed Jan 06, 2010 9:10 pm

Does anyone know what the S1 is like / can anyone photo theirs or something

I've found a window for sale but it's without the seal. I figure I can probably order something from woolies (trim place) that will suffice...

Its a sticky back rubber seal.

Woolies don't have anything appropriate.

Don't think they are particularly expensive from Lotus from memory.

Cheers Dan will give a dealer a call tomorrow then.

Probably should have explained that the place that broke mine have chucked it out so I have no way of checking - i'm not being mega lazy!

Does it go all the way around the window?

Yeah it goes all the way round. You could always just use some self adhesive draught excluder tbh.

I used some window seal ( I found a roll in the hall and pinched a wee bit) I wish I had half inched the whole roll now

Tis the same as Caravan window seal. Got mine from Craig for a few quid. Also the rubber seal strip around the whole of the boot bay which is also similar.

Hi Chris - I'm in the Ferry if you want to have a look, it's a 2000 reg S1 though.

Might take you up on that, though I *think* a 2000 had a different, slightly tilted to avoid reflections rear window in a frame or something and might differ?

They changed the design around '98, angled the original flat window to try and reduce glare.
