If we are naming and shaming, same kind of thing happend to me at Bennets (just around the corner from MMC in Edinburgh) Said the repair would take a week as they needed to remove all the glass then it took 2 weeks and no glass was removed (overspray on the rubber seals proved that one) and a brand new great big deep long scratch/dent in the drivers door which someone had done whilst being repaired. This all happened to my previous car (non Elise) and delayed the Elise ownership whilst all this had to be completed so the car could be traded in. That was the second time Bennets have done a crap job. Avoid if at all possible.

Because if so, not surprised, they're sh!te.
John Martain Group are a bit late with my car at the minute but that's mainly my fault (delaying getting new front tyres to them). But I got a fantastic service with them with the rear clam last year (more than a week ahead of schedule!!). And this time they have bent over backwards to keep me happy and informed every step of the way! Can't complain, but lets see what it's like when I get it back w new front clam :D

Good luck Scott, I just got my L200 back from JM Perth after 4 months (was told 3/4 day job to replace front bumper and stonechip sized dent on wing) . They did at least do a good job of the paintwork though and I put 4k miles onto the hired L200 instead of my own :) .

Since we are in name and shame mode - how is this for unimpressive service from MMC. Car went in for it first annual service a few weeks ago, having been booked well in advance, at which time I asked for the rear tyres to be changed. Took the car in, reminded them about the tyres, was told it was no problem. Picked the car up later to find tyres had not been changed cos they did not have any in stock. No apology was offered, and no one thought to warn me before I took the car in or when I dropped it off. I was told they would call me in a couple of days to arrange tyres to be fitted - no call has been forthcoming. Deeply unimpressed, so have ordered the tyres from Plans. Obviously a pretty minor issue compared to Kenny's woes, but if you have spent over 30k on a car, and over £300 for a standard service, the level of customer service really should be better. Don't think this would happen with a BMW or Lexus dealer!

Oh, and I noticed that my car had mysteriously covered 10 miles between dropping it off and picking it up for a routine service, which leads to the suspicion that some grease monkey was having a burn in my car

Went to garage this afternoon and managed to speak to the UK general manager. (the garage is part of More Than) explained the situation and why I am so pissed off. Wont get me my car back for this weekend but they will be making every effort to get it back asap.

He admitted that their communication had not been good and with hindsight would have done things differently. Most importantly I wanted to see where the car was stored and what condition it was in. Happy to say I was pleased with what I found.

Also made the point that I was concerned with the length of time that car hadnt been moved and that the first place it was likely to be going was on track so I didnt want any brake problems at 100 tuts.

Had a chat with the guy and it turns out he is a biker and does a lot of Euro and US road trips so he knows I wont be able to be fobbed off if the car isnt in 100% perfect condition when I go to pick it up.

Fingers crossed.

Kenny, follow up your chat with the MD with a prickly letter of complaint; just to make sure he doesn't think he can schmooze his way out of the treatment you've been given :)

hope things get sorted out for you soon Buddy!

At the moment I'll just be happy to get the car back in one piece.

Not long had a call to say it will be ready tomorrow morning.
