Best toelink kit?

Post by Stu160 » Sun Jan 10, 2010 11:36 pm

Hi All

Just thought I would ask some advice on which toelink upgrade to fit.
I think after 10 years, the standard ones on the 160 could do with being replaced

Cheers

I like the one from Elise shop. The links are much beefier than the Elise parts version. Dan fitted mine and I think he said it was one of the better ones. Nitron now do one but I dont know what that is like.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

What he said!

Either the Eliseshop one or the Nitron kit. But the Nitron kit is serious money so unless you're loaded I'd get one of Yvo's kits.

Yeah, I'd be interested to get to the bottom of that story.

I've got the elise parts ones fitted and so far they have been fine. Been on the car for about 4 years and still going strong. Although not as beafy they aren't hollow, as far as I can tell.

My Elise Parts ones have been on since I snapped a toe link on Mexi Towers (whenever that was - '06?) Been through one Rose Joint, but generally fine. That said, the Elise Shop ones (designed by Gaz, no?) weren't about at the time and I'd probably have stumped for them.

Still, no issues to report with the EP ones.

Elise Parts on mine and very happy with them.

Well, Apart from the price. Couldn't see nearly £300 worth of parts in the box when it arived.

Yeah, but it's not the cost of the metal, it's the cost of designing and testing the metal. Not having a go mate, but it's a bit of a bugbear of mine that people expect to be able to buy developed solutions for the sum cost of the parts & machining involved....

TADTS stopped a while back (well, he said he was giving up when I emailed him about some TREs) He said that you could now get the bits he sold (barring the toe link kit) on eBay cheaper than he bought from the manufacturer. Would have been cheap Chinese bits, but sadly price rules on 'tinternet and the sort of folks that care about quality over price would tend just to go straight to EP...

Very true.

Still feel some of the prices are a little too much. Lotus do the same I.E £100 for a S2 toe link.

Amortised over a vastly greater production run, yeah. Apples for apples.
