Looks good Dave - wonder if there's too much blue though .. just a thought mind. Wonder what a dark blue leather with orange stich would have looked like..

You could always put on the PU strap for a laugh too!

In the real world the blue is actually a lot paler than it looks in the pics.... for a few mins after opening the package, I actually thought Rich had put denim thread in and not royal blue!

Tried for a blue strap originally, but Rich said his leather was the wrong shade and a definite no no.... :( Could be tempted by a dark blue/orange one at some point though if one crops up! 8)

Was actually going to put the PU on for a bit... but changing the strap is a bitch! even with my ebaytastic tool!!!!

Just ordered myself a new daily wearer, as my automatic Kirium doesn't deserve to get half the abuse it gets on a daily basis, from desk to DIY.
So, was gonna buy an Orange Monster... but then I saw the Neo Monster in orange & preferred the look.... was swithering between the 2 since the Neo is only 100m rated (like I'll be going that deep!!).
I liked the bezel on the Neo better, and love the rear glass so the movement is visible.... but it's not a proper monster.
Then I saw the Neo in white... and that swung it.
Hopefully have the white Neo delivered by Monday :)

I've eventually bitten the bullet & put my Tag Kirium in for a service.
The battery went the other day
and it needs a new screw down crown.
Sent it to "Chealwatch"

apparently they will polish it up as well & it comes back like new.......

I used Cheal for my Tag service a few years ago. Spot on service. Took a couple of weeks, but that beats Tag's turnaround by miles... and the price was about a 3rd. (was about £80 for an auto & £50 for quartz back then).
Good choice :thumbsup

Arrived today. Haven't had time to get the bracelet adjusted... but for the price... well impressed !! Chunky, weighty & just feels solid.

OK then question for you watchy types....

Budget of ~£150
I would like a jump-hour automatic, 1970's style. Not bothered about a reproduction.
I just like the idea of a purely mechanical digital watch...

Where should I be looking? (Other than e-bay!)

Thought i would ask the pros.....

Lynda is looking for a watch for her 30th birthday next month, so me being the bestest husband in the world has to buy it

She is looking at the Gucci "G-Gucci", have seen it in the Argyle Arcade for £395 without diamonds and £475 with  So all i am wanting to know is where is the cheapest place to buy it

Or any other recommendations?

:cheers

I bought my wifes Tag off a website called World watches.com
I saved £850 buying it off here & posting it to my friends house in Boston. (think they are based in LA)
When i went to Boston on holiday a few weeks later - i took the watch home.
The watch was an Alter Ego with Diamonds round it.
£2,050 in the UK and I paid £1,200 for it, at the time (7 years ago)

To be honest , on the price scale off below £500, you will save a wee bit, but not much.

my 2p's worth....

this looks like an interesting thread. I have a quite a few watches in my collection but won't say what they are, as i don't have any photos of them to plaster all over the forum and will therefore no doubt be ridiculed as being a bullshytter
