Bad news - Brian Jamieson
Re: Bad news - Brian Jamieson
Everybody will be pleased for you Chris, and that it was co-incidental the way that things turned out.
Having Brian's car still going strong and being used as he would have done is great, as is the enthusiasm when someone discovers what it is all about for the first time.

ps we have two very similar Chris's now, ChrisG and Chris G.

Im not the quickest of drivers but on his first run he over took me on the road to Glen SheeChris G wrote:Folks,
Firstly let me say how sorry I was to hear the news about Brian. I never met or knew the man but the response on the forum speaks volumes about the him.
I wanted to post a quick note to let everyone know that I had purchased Brians Exige after Tut had been asked by Linda to see if anyone on S_E wanted the car. I am absolutely over the moon with the Exige but would have much preferred to have obtained it under better circumstances. The last thing I wanted to do was upset anyone and was a bit concered about how everyone would take it.
After arranging with Tut to go and view the car, Alan Gourlay and myself picked the car up on Saturday and followed eachother in turns back up the road from Falkirk through Glenshee - turned out to be a cracking day and I really enjoyed my first run in the Lotus. I have been trying to buy a lotus for about 4-5months now and I think it is good that this car is going to stay within S_E and be used on the runs and at KH now and again.
Anyway just wanted to post a quick note and let everyone know that I am over the moon with the car but respect that there a lot of history and memories attached to this car so will not forget that.
Cheers
Chris

Chris, best thing you can do is use it in the fashion that Brian would - which appears to be exactly what you're doing. Well done on a great purchase and take car of her and she'll take care of you.

Re: Bad news - Brian Jamieson
really sorry to hear this.
I only did a couple of track days when I had my Elise. My first one was East Fortune, I'm a bit of a shy guy and I distinctly remember Brian coming over and introducing himself to me and having a good chat about Lotus and Nobles. Made me feel very welcome. thoughts go out to his friends and family.

Very sad news indeed, too sudden and too soon
Brian was one of the first guys I met at KH when I first joined S_E and have enjoyed his company at many trackdays and karting events
I've read many comments on this thread and would like to echo what a gentleman Brian was, he always had time for a chat
Condolences to his family and friends

Tom - worth pointing out that the Woody you're referring to is a SELOC member - we have a member on here called Woody who is in no way related to the SELOC member and is in perfect health.

Re: Bad news - Brian Jamieson
Just read this. Bloody hell what awful news. As everyone else has said, Brian was a proper gentleman in every way. Ashley and I spent some time chatting to Brian and Linda last summer and my sides were sore from laughing. A really lovely fun to be with couple. My thoughts are with Linda and the rest of Brian's family.

Re: Bad news - Brian Jamieson
There is now over £200 in contributions to Brian's Memorial Fund, so for starters I would like to get a suitable cup that we can start of with on the SIDC trackday on March 27th.
I could google to order one, but I am sure that there is someone out there that could suggest a better way and has experience in Trophy's. I intend to have the winners name engraved on the Cup each time, so for its inaugural at KH we will start off with "The best dressed driver".
Let me know what you think, and it can either be collected and paid for on my C/C, or delivered to tt.

Re: Bad news - Brian Jamieson
Just back from a trip to Basra and logged in to see this very sad news.
I only spoke to Brian a few times at Knockhill but he was always very friendly, a true gentleman and a real car enthusiast.
My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
