Brian Jamieson - Fund
Re: Brian Jamieson - Fund
Not sure if this would be appropriate at this time???, however if possable I could have have a chat with Karting Indoars or some other karting venue???at sometime in the future and see if something could be organised regarding SE karting, ofcourse in Brians name, perhaps a 2-24 hour karting team session for all in SE regardless of experiance, a fitting venue for someone who raced there often......if we can bring all of SE together and raise a few extra quid then why not??

A bit of fun in Brian's honour would be well received I am sure. I'm fairly sure he'd expect nothing less
Nice idea Noops.

Re: Brian Jamieson - Fund
Folks,
This was mentioned at Brian's service this morning and was well recieved by all present. I'm also with Noops and think that some serious thought should be given to arranging an annual karting even in Brian's honour, perhaps close to the end of August as that was his birthday?
I'm just thinking out loud now, but somewhere like Raceland with the out door track and increase capacity so that folk from Brian's other interests could also be invited along, follow by a meal or similar afterwards?

Re: Brian Jamieson - Fund
Depending how the fund goes, a BJ presentation cup for the Karting as well would be no problem.
I have received eleven generous contributions so far.

Re: Brian Jamieson - Fund
Tut, just for clarity, the karting event would be self funding, with anything additional donated to one of Brian's many interests. ( I'm aware that SE does a lot of good work for charity and I'm not suggesting it should be turned into another fund raising event however if there was a surplus that's where it could go).tut wrote:Depending how the fund goes, a BJ presentation cup for the Karting as well would be no problem.

Sounds the sensible approach Mac, there's no point in rushing things. I'm happy to pop into Gladsmure as I'm passing it most days and have a wee chat regarding this ,however if a differant venue is more conveniant to SE then so be it...at somepoint in the future we can put it up for the SE folk for feedback ideas etc.mac wrote:Folks,
