I also queried the bit about car having to be driven to circuit, on the basis that I have ploughed a fair bit of hard earned into the race box so that I can get the 2-11 to track without getting wet or cold en route. They responded with a "you'll be fine" :thumbsup

They want to keep the chav boxes out, quite a few Elises/Exiges are trailered there even though they are road cars, and they would not know anyway. Any Lotus or VX on S_E will have no problem.

If it is fully booked, there is a good chance that you will get on track on the day.

With 50+ cars, there is almost always a mechanical failure, so you would be able to take their place.

Does not have to be a Lotus for TT Mike, as long as the majority are. I have had Scoobies over the years and the odd other make, but they have all been performance cars so that they will fit in as regards pace.

No longer a Virgin :D

Just had my Elise out for the first time at KH and had a great time, Was a bit aprehensive to start with but manged to get things going reasonably well as the day went on, hope I didn't get in the way too often.

Haven't stopped smiling since, well apart from the 50mph drive for fuel when I finished, didn't think I was going to make it. Now really looking forward to the 27th SIDC, glad I took all your advice a booked that one too. Maybe meet up with some of you there some advice.

Cheers

Nice day at Knock hill but the track was very tricky - for a Caterham anyway . Melting snow caused rivers that got got worse as the day warmed up and things changed on a lap by lap basis.

A youtube vid to show the condition :)

Really just running in the engine but couldn't resist a few fast laps. Car went well and is quicker than before. I post the data soon when I get a chance.

Yeah made for some interesting moments especially through the chicane

Was a good day however, first time i have had the DC2 on track which i was highly impressed with! Car ran faultlessly all day and my new Carbotechs were excellent! Just need to learn to heel and toe smoothly now to stop locking up  Plus need to get the worn bushes changed the geo set up now hopefully in time for SIDC at the end of the month which is looking unlikely now as i am working in Inverness for the next 2 weeks

Negatives; 102 miles out a full tank to the light coming on  and operator problems with my Muvi, so ended up with no footage....Doh!!!

Anyone with any pics????

:cheers

Yes, was a good day but as mentioned, the meltwater was interesting especially after chicane. I felt a bit rusty and I think I have a case of "frozen rear tyre syndrome" (excuse no 1) so never got to that properly hooked up feeling like the Exige used to deliver when tyres up to temp on a dry track. Maybe just too tentative and not leaning on them hard enough, and the track was still cold and a bit salty. Front end grip was good. I picked up the car with rears that are barely legal so new set due anyway. Impressive machine though, looking forward to SIDC.
