Upon reflection
Re: Upon reflection
Yep, my fuel pump fuse blew again which is why Craig stopped, and we then got the phone call.
I used to be childish in those days, hence stopping at the other side of the bridge to see what was happening, then going through the gearbox with changes at 8600rpm. However I was ready to turn right for the Lecht if they had been tempted.
Of course, I would not do anything like that nowadays. Lordy I really was a tearaway 65 year old.

Appropriate speed in villages 30/40 limits (sometimes well below the limit).
Courteous overtaking, don't race up behind people or cut in. Give them a chance to see you are there.
Slowing down when traffic coming the other direction.
Slow right down for pedestrians etc (you'll have noticed the couple with pushchair?), give a wave.
Usually well within the car, conditions and visibility limits, only pushing on when it's clear.
Also, driving slowly through towns gives the great unwashed a chance to admire the plastic on show!
Ahem - no plastic here if you dont mind !
I'm with Ali on this one - waves all round and don't bother the "ordinary" people*

Re: Upon reflection
Well had to go to hospital today, the pain was getting pretty bad, saw a doctor and after some brutal prodding was diagnosed with severe whiplash and a bruised liver!! They are putting me on a drug cocktail for 3 days so if I post gibberish (well worse than normal at least) I apologise in advance
The VX was taken away today for assesment, should hear from the insurance company in the next few days.
I would just like to say that with regards to the road runs there was absolutely no pressure to drive fast or to keep up with anyone, driving sensibly within our limits is always encouraged. For instance at one stage I didnt feel comfortable keeping up with Tut so simply didnt, I got left behind and Alan and I got abit lost but a phone call later and we met up with the rest, no problem, no fuss and everyone waited for us.
I really enjoyed the road run, the social part of the run is a very important part of it, its always great to kick tyres and talk cars with other like minded folks. Just a bit gutted I am going to miss all the road runs out and the track days, but hopefully will be back soon!

Important to get fixed in time for TT2010.......
Should be your No.1 aim over the next 3 months
Take it easy - at least when you're back in the driving seat of a new machine again, the weather should be better.
If you've had whip lash before you'll no what to expect. If not, don't be surprised by lack of concentration, sleep etc. but at least it will go away. All the best for speedy recover - you and tut are keeping the pharmacy industry busy

Re: Upon reflection
Hope you are feeling better soon. Don't worry about posting gibberish ~ lots of us do that routinely anyway. I have been on meds for severe back pain for a couple of weeks now so am also keeping the drugs companies in business , at one point was taking 30 tablets a day and when I wasn't sleeping was high as a kite.
Hope you get the insurance sorted quickly and get yourself a new toy to play with. Keith

Alan in "gets lost again" shocker!vx220 wrote: Alan and I got abit lost

In all seriousness though, I wish you a speedy recovery, just keep taking those pills!! I have had whiplash before (a lorry with bull bars rear ended me

If you haven't done so already, start looking for adverts for similar cars so when the insurance company make their first offer you can send them to them to get the settlent figure up a bit. I managed to get triple our first offer when one of our cars was written off by doing just that.
I will be using our Elise the weekend of TT, Andy.
