New edition to the garage.........

Post by Andy G » Wed Mar 17, 2010 3:28 pm

I've nearly bought one twice, so it was third time lucky, when this little beast came back to Edinburgh.

First off apologies to any other SE'ers who might have been wanting the car. I was lucky that i had the cash ready to go, and after the initial buyer pulled out, i was suprosed to get a call back about it, and in the end, the seller ended up with 20 people wanting it - not many of these about, and the seller was a top bloke - getting an Elise now i believe (and wants his plate back  )

The seed had been sown by Scotty C, in our infamous blatting around (in the Atom & 340R convoy) Arran etc, and have been a wee bit smitten with them ever since French Frolic 7, and the infamous Lucy Lervais track - which saw me spend more time sideways than straight, and eventually spinning Scottys 340R so far off the track in to the grass i had to stand up to see where the track was!

Very lucky that Ed was willing to fly to NI and rag it home for me, as I was on holiday when the funds transferred :thumbsup

It a wee bit rough body work wise, with some chips and scratches needing sorted, and it needs a C service, and a cold weather map for the Emerald, but it goes a bit, seems pretty well sorted and I'm loving having another Lotus to drive (albeit in my brief drive from SLS to the house).

Another one of my dream cars is now residing in my garage, just squeezing in beside its wid-hipped Italian cousin, and with the Elise now destined to spend most of the year in the south for the Elise Trophy, another track car was needed, preferably a depreciation proof one!

Now if the rain could just f*** off, and if work would just calm down, I might be able to enjoy it

:welcome Welcome to the select band....... Its funny, whilst 340r are generally becoming fewer in the UK, as many have gone abroad, there are now more in Scotland than ever before.

Once upon a time it was just Scotty and I!!

No apologies needed mate :thumbsup Glad it went to a Gent and a fellow SE'er. Hopefully see it up Knockhill.
Obviously new you had bought it but resisted the temptation to tell when folks where quizing

Just had to try and get it as it seemed such a bargain and I had a few quid saved. Was going to go back to my original plan of getting Dan to supercharge the Exige but Im not sure thats a go'er any more :(
