So the question is fit them ASAP or wait for the "Special" to be finished? They are Piper 270H's and they were £185 s/h
Still not sure about my special head, awaiting advice form DVA, I also need a set of verniers, cam sealant and oil seals but I'm nearly broke for the next week or so due to the conspriacy of the girlfriend and Bell insurance. (ie her birthday at Goodwood FOS and my insurace was due)

I have had some advice from a well known and fairly controversial source (FFS, you can work out who) that what I have done is OK but not great for longevity. Valves, stems, and guides will all wear more quickly (Obviously) and to keep a careful eye on it for leaks and oil use.
I'm pretty sure I am going to fit the whole thing once it's finished....
At least then I will have a complete and undisturbed head to use when it finally wears out....
Any thoughts?

Can you explain a little more about the situation. You've got cams but you're waiting for a ported head or something???
