Colour schemes
Well I am just heading off to meet the chaps at totally dynamic to look at some options for the 2-11, still do not have any clear ideas. Had considered the McLaren Gulf colours, a variation on the stripes that’s on the car and even a matt of carbon fibber. Hope that I will get some inspiration on the way there

Theres no doubt that Gulf colours are fantastic, difficult to actually commit though. I quite liked the Martini colours on the elise on SELOC. How about a play on historic Lotus colours?

Thats a tough one, Lotus put all those stripes on to make it stand out as the shape is funtional rather than stylish.
Either something really different psuedo x-ray would be cool or full race style trim.
The tiger stripe elise/exige looked cool

Camel colours, or Essex oil, from the historical POV. Shame Essex would give the wrong idea these days, as the scheme would look tremendous on a 211. JPS has been done (and it looks awesome) and not sure the edgey styling would work with BRG/Yellow - plus as Nizmondo says, the shape needs design to break it up or it'll look like an RC car bodyshell.

Maybe the 908 version of the Gulf colours (Targa Florio car) would be better on a 211....

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

Well I am just back with lots to think about, I think a good racing scheme would work the best I like the darker blue on the McLaren?

I also looked at a number of other schemes just can’t find a Lotus colour that works

Especially the colour coding on the tyres
I like the Ford (F3L?) red and gold strips with white front and whole back idea, gulf is nice but been done before, though Shug's 908 Targa Floria livery would look great (especially since the 908 and the 2-11 have a similar shape to them with the relatively straight sides etc.
What about a Rothmans look ala 962c

Use the 'yota engine connection?
Quick and dirty look at Toyota/Castrol Racing colours. Mocked this up a while back, can't even remember why now but still think it looks the dogs!
