Could any of our experts tell me if I would be able to use any of the CV joints on N3, especially the offside outer?
I have two spare drive shafts, I presume that those would be the wrong lengths, but I think the outer CV's would be the wrong type.

You can use the inners and I personally think these shafts are worth the money for them alone, never mind the intermediate shaft. Nearly bought them myself.
The shafts themselves and outer joints are useless though.

Yep, Inner joints are worth that alone and you can use the intermediate shaft when your bearing goes. I would buy them.
If you want a spare set of driveshafts, I can get a shaft made then assemble it for you. All i need is the length of the shaft and the length from shoulder to shoulder. Garage can give you them when they change the joints.

Alan, I have what appears to be two good driveshafts, different lengths so left and right, and a mixture of tripod joint casings and bearings when bits have been replaced. Also inner and outer boots that look new.
Pretty sure the driveshafts are good, but would not trust the tripods as I can not remember their history. Still waiting for John to strip it down and tell me if anything else has gone apart from the outer CV, then call the AA with the results.
Verian is going to see Ian in hospital this morning, so hopefully she can pick up the CV.
Cheers

No problem, tell Verian to phone my mobile when she arrives and i'll come down with the parts.
Having a think about your driveshafts, Stark Sell complete units. I know its just an outer c.v joint but something to consider for the future.
Cheers

I actually called Stark who were happy to supply me with one, but were not sure if it would be identical to a Link-Up kit as their engine mounts are slightly different. That would not matter as long as the driveshafts were the same length. Do you know if they are?

ps as it is being done under P&L, I would like to fit a complete made up assembly as opposed to mix and match.

Tut, how did you get round the whole "Non standard" issue with parts and labour?
P&L has already came in handy for the ZT so would be piece of mind if I knew I was covered with the TF too!

They have never bothered/asked, although I think I did tell them that I had a Honda engine in.
However I do get the driveshaft invoiced as a Lotus Elise one.
