Driving Experiences? Which one? Done and review & pics
Re: Driving Experiences? Which one?
tut i'll take you up on that offer!
Robin, i won it as work so might as well use it. I'm happy to chuck in 20quid but if it was the choice between cash or buying one of these days i'd keep the cash!
it will get me some track experience with some tuition so when i borrow N3 at TT i'm not completely sh*t!

Re: Driving Experiences? Which one?
Well today was the day.
didn't take long over all but was great fun.
Got taken out in a mazda to get shown the lines.
then came in and got 3 laps in a cayman then straight out that and into a single seater.
Got held up on a lap by another single seater who wouldn't move over. Was tempted to dick him but thought i'd be sensible.
the instructor in the Cayman said my lines were close to perfect and he was quite impressed with my driving. (he kept telling me to change up really early in the revs, but i obviously had some hearing issues
)
then we finished with a 1lap "high speed" run in a caterham, i wasn't that impressed with him as he didn't do a mass and go sideways and wasn't as quick as scotty
Now for some pics for you lot to look at whilst i browse PH for a cheap trackhack. (photos taken by the track photographer and some by Kat, and yes i paid for them)

obviously studied at the renmure school of photography

Glad you enjoyed it, though a shame it's reigned in a bit (though maybe it's a bit safer for the general public at large!)
Let us know how you get on with the track-hack searching, I might be looking to do the same later in the year (possible shared track car with my dad on the cards).

it was at croft, i was overall £179ish, but won a £150 voucher for it at work, so only had to pay the difference, so around £25 so yup well worth the money, just wanted longer on track.

Hope you have enjoyed the day Adam. It sounds like you didn't have many laps in the cars so must have been a bit of let down. Kat did well with the photos.
I like Croft. Some of the corners flow really well but the first section of the track is real bumpy. I think I did over 150 track miles when I was there last year in the SLR.
What spec Caterham was it?

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Not sure the exact spec, but had too much weight. it had doors and win screen
lol
yeah didn't get many laps and i'm craving going back to do more but not at those prices.
I know what you mean about how they flow, i was getting into the flow of them and then that was it over
now to book the ferrari experience i got for my birthday and roll on TT and begging for a shot of folks.

How was the Cayman?
"I've had enough sh1t"
Re: Driving Experiences? Which one? Done and review & pics
the cayman was really nice, only bugging thing was the instructor wanting me to change at around 3k revs.
it held the track nicely and felt it had a massive amount of grip. Quite comfortable.
The way the pedals are felt awkward for looking at heel & toe as i can do this in my astra and when i was in mcapes elise. yet it felt strange with the floor mounted pedal.

i just refused, pretended i couldn't hear him.
i kept it going, then changed up when i felt comfortable. I didn't take the piss with bouncing it off the limiter but changed it up when it wasn't over reving or labouring.

There are still places for thrashing Vauxhalls on the 16th of June at KH if you want to get on track just prior to TT in silly FWD that you don't own (and a BBQ).
Decent value at £95 and from what i've heard about previous events, the instructors egg you on a bit too.
Erica, my dad and me will be there - but unfortunately can't make TT

Re: Driving Experiences? Which one? Done and review & pics
might be looking into booking onto that, will need to look at funds but i may be up to that.
says its an open pit lane, does that mean they will have enough cars for everyone who signs up?
hopefully will have enough spaces so i can book on later this month after payday.
