Is it not just the alloy uprights that have common bearing failures with the S1? 340 uses steel uprights at the rear so standard hubs should be okay?

You can not ask too many questions on here Ken, always someone willing to answer.

Things are not quite as bad as Alan suggested, as my car with 300hp, which spends much of its life on the track, normally susses them out. I have not had a breakdown for over two years, and the sheered driveshaft was my own fault, shifted from 3 to 2 instead of into 4 on the KH straight at 8600rpm. The offside still had the original BLiNK assembly on from four years ago, and was a much thinner driveshaft than the current ones. It was not the outer CV joint that went, the shaft sheared cleanly inside it.

My biggest problems have been with the boots splitting, again partly my own fault as the exhaust manifold is so close to the drive shaft and transfers heat into the boot. I should have more heat shielding on, but a mod along with the now improved boots seems to have sorted that out. James at Stark is having a complete offside assembly made up for me, and I am sticking with standard Rover outers as he hopes to have it in a few days.

What power and tq are you expecting from your 2.4 when it is completed?

Engine out this weekend. Had help from Craig and Alan Dickie which was much appreciated :thumbsup

It was easier than expected as the the many "Lotus Specailists" that have worked on Colin's car only left 3 bolts holding the entire body on.

About 5 hours all in i would say and thats including taking the body off.

I'm waiting on parts for the Engine, can't put it in until the engines built. I'm hoping to put the engine in in 2 weeks.

I think I could do this as a job now, had a few people ask.

Might do 2 a year just to keep my hand in. :thumbsup

I can't do it, i know its easier but I just can't cut the body in half.

He will just have to take the body off to work on it, of course it will never break down. :leave
