Can we get decent pads & tyres near the tracks? Really looking forward to the trip

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Thanks Scotty. Does this mean I won't be able to buy the tyres over there?
In any case, why don't you drop by and we can go for a blat

It's pretty difficult to get tyres changed over let alone buy some decent track tyres.
Mass what car are you taking? Your best to take a couple of rears with you if you think they'll be done, so getting them to Scotty is the best plan. Take a set of pads with you too. Easy enough to change them at a track or hotel.

Don, I will be taking the CR as it will be more comfortable + reliable than the SLR. Just put the Kumho V70 two trackdays ago but I am sure they won't last too long. Even the front hard compound tyres are very soft, heating up & wearing out very quickly. The other day, Kenny's new 888 was at 40C and mine was 60C after doing the similar number of laps (10 or so).
I've been in touch with meercat and they are making the bung for me, thanks

Re: FFX - Frolic 2010
there was a local garage who changed tyres for me at Pau 3 years ago. If you need a set, take them with you, french prices are outrageous
Re: FFX - Frolic 2010
Mass, what compound V70's do you have on? The Hard compound are supposed to last better than 48's but I have not used them. I'll be using a set of Bridgestone RE070's for road and bit of track with a full set of wheels with slicks on for the tracks I like. But I have the luxury of space for them in the car.
Agree with Scotty best to get a new set of 48's on before you go and change the rears over there.

I wanted to purchase hard front & rear but the supplier only had hard front and medium rear. Even the hard front are very soft, much softer than the 048s. The V70 works very well on the SLR but not so on the CR, may be due to its weight.
Where do you get your slicks? I think LIVINGSTON AUTOPARTS sells used slicks (off Porker cup cars) for Evos cheaply.

Yes it's the porsche cup fronts that fit my car. I usually get them from Protyre down south but a local supplier would be good. I'll give them a try, cheers.Modena Scotland wrote:I wanted to purchase hard front & rear but the supplier only had hard front and medium rear. Just called them, guy didn't have a clue about porsche cup slicks and never stocked them.
